How fit do I need to be to do this trek?

Annapurna Base Camp is a Grade B or a moderately difficult trekking route. So any fit person can do this trek, even if you do not have any previous experience. You should be aware of what to expect and mentally prepare for it. Then, as long as you will too, you can.

How long do we walk every day when doing Annapurna Base Camp trekking?

On average, you walk about 4 to 6 hours per day. One or two days can be as less as 3hrs and one or two days can be as long as 7hrs.

What is the highest altitude reached in this trek?

The highest altitude reached is 4190m. This is the elevation of Annapurna Base Camp. ABC is the highest we will climb in this trek.

What about battery charging and hot shower facilities?

Yes, you can charge batteries en route. Charger should be brought. There are hot shower facilities as well. You may have to pay a certain amount for both ($1-$2). Negotiate. Also, a hot water facility could be free at a lower elevation.

Are there ATMs on the way to Annapurna Base Camp?

No. There are no ATMs on this trek route. You will have to draw enough cash in Pokhara or Kathmandu. There are a number of ATMs in these cities. Everything is paid in Nepali rupees. So money should be exchanged before the start of the trek.

Although, not having a guide can be a little problematic during the offseason. It really depends on you. Is it your first time in Nepal? How confident are you of being able to find your way around? How pressed on time are you? If you go through an agency, it will be costlier but everything will be planned. You will only have to come, trek and return.

How much do guides and porters cost?

For the Annapurna region, pay for guides range from $20 to $30 per day and porters take $15 to $25 per day.

Tanzania Budget Camping Safari

Tanzania Budget Camping Safari 3 days / 2 nights will be spent under the stars in a igloo type tents. Wake up in your own private camp in the heart of the Ngorongoro plains.

Day 1 :

Arusha to Manyara National Park

The day starts with a hearty breakfast, afterwards your tour guide will do briefing of the day activities, and from there you will drive from Arusha and head to Manyara. Lake Manyara park covers 330 sq. km, 70% of which is occupied by the lake. The varied ecosystem consists of ground water forests, acacia woodland and open grassland along the lake shore and sustains a wealth of wildlife, including the Big Five lion, elephant, leopard, rhino and buffalo. The park is famous for the elusive tree-climbing lions that inhabit the woodland between the lake and the Rift Valley. It is also an ornithologists’ paradise and is host to over 400 species of birds. Dinner and overnight at Fanaka Camp Site

Day 2 :

Ngorongoro Conservation Area / Crater

Today it will be another early start, after breakfast you will head to Ngorongoro crater and there is Optional tour to detour through a traditional Maasai village, watch some traditional dancing, and see what life is really like on the African plains. From there we descend to the crater floor in search of more big game. In the afternoon we will eat our packed lunch on the crater floor, at one of several picnic sites near Lerai Forest or Hippo Pool. If we’re lucky, we’ll spot the rare Black Rhinoceros. In the late afternoon we venture back up out of the crater and head onward to Karatu for overnight. Dinner and overnight at Fanaka Camp Site.

Day 3 :

Tarangire National Park to Arusha

We save the best for last. After breakfast, we embark on our final game drive through the Tarangire National Park. Tarangire Park is famous for the African elephants – the world’s biggest mammals – are very common in this area. The park is also dotted with the iconic Baobab, shrub-like trees that can grow up to 30m tall. After full day of exploring Tarangire, we head to Arusha for overnight. You will be dropped to your hotel or optional we can book a budget friendly lodge Maura Apartment for Dinner and Overnight.
