Budget Kruger Safari Adventure
Mpumalanga Panorama Route – Kruger National Park – Swaziland – Zululand – Drakensberg mountains – Wild Coast – Addo – Tsitsikamma – Hermanus – Cape Town – Cape Point & Table Mountain
Budget Kruger Safari Adventure this is unique Budget Kruger Safari Adventure tour leads you through the untamed wilderness of Africa. The Mpumalanga region is bordered on the western end of a giant escarpment abundant with dense forests, clear streams and gushing waterfalls.
This border then transforms slowly into the Lowveld bushveld where a wide variety of animal and plant life have made it their home. A broad range of private reserves as well as the world-famous Kruger National Park are situated in this region. We spend our time both in the Park and in the neighbouring private Reserve.
As this Reserve is, in fact, privately owned, we have the chance to embark on several hiking paths and open vehicle drives throughout the area with expertly trained staff.
Day 1: Johannesburg – Bush Camp
Leaving at 06h30 from the City of Gold, Johannesburg, we journey through the picturesque route that leads us to Mpumalanga. On the way, we pay a visit to Dullstroom, make our way through Robbers Pass and spend some time at the charming town of Pilgrims Rest which is drenched in history. We also pay visits to Bourkes Luck Potholes and the magnificent Blyde River Canyon.
Following this, we snake our way down the escarpment to the Lowveld bushveld where we spend the night in a comfortable Bush Camp. Being neighbours to the Kruger National Park, our tents are beautifully designed in order to blend in with our surrounds. The camp boasts soft beds, en-suite bathrooms, a revitalizing splash pool and incredible views over the vegetation that encircles us. In the evening, dinner is prepared on a crackling open fire.
Day 2: Bushveld Camp
We begin today by dipping local rusks into a good cup of coffee before embarking on a lovely game walk. We trek for around three hours, seeking out game and making frequent stops in order to be educated about the ways of the bush. A guide and tracker will lead you through all the walks in the Park. We make our way back to camp for an early afternoon brunch, after which we spend some time unwinding by the pool. At midday, we climb aboard an open vehicle in order to conduct a game drive that transforms into a lengthy, but thrilling, evening game drive. Residing in the bush in the evening grants us the chance to observe plenty of nocturnal creatures which would usually be difficult to spot. Dinner is a delicious bush ‘braai’, before we are lulled to sleep by the distant calls of the wild.
Day 3: Kruger National Park
We depart from our bush camp early today in order to journey to the famous Kruger National Park, where we spend the rest of the day observing game from the fantastic height of our safari vehicle. We indulge in a delectable picnic in the afternoon, and spend the evening in one of the camps situated within the Park.
Day 4: Hazyview
Following breakfast and one more lengthy drive seeking out Africa’s ‘Big 5’ and an array of other animals that have made this Park their home, we leave and make our way to Hazyview Lodge, a wonderful log cabin constructed on stilts and situated in a subtropical forest on the Sabia River. Here, you are welcome to spend time swimming, observing in the bird hide and embarking on pleasant treks through the indigenous forest.
Day 5: Hazy view – Johannesburg
Following a leisurely morning, we leave our lodging and make our way to Johannesburg, where our tour comes to an end in the early evening.
